An exploration of different methods includin: air-slumping (2400 degree glass poured over a copper armature and then lifted into the air, shaped and placed in an annealer; kiln casting, pate de verre, painted, plaster bandaged hot casting, variable temperature kiln casting

Drip Casting

Drip Casting

Drip castings are made using weak or broken molds, under cooking (not heating to the preferred temperature or not holding long enough) and charging (adding glass) during the melting process. Because the glass must be added multiple times the melting, or dripping of the glass into (and outside of the mold) can be watched so that glass does not entirely leave the mold. The results are often stunning in their texture and variation. The examples on this page were made using recycled glass.

Glass bowls worked in a mosaic style using stained glass but grouted rather than soldered. The fish bowl, however, was created using a microwave glass plate as a base.
