I just recently got a kiln, but I'm having some trouble with it. I've been making marbles, and had the kiln up to 986F. Almost instantly after rolling the marble into the kiln though, it explodes.

Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Have a nice day. :)

Ouch!!!!

You are putting a hot marble into a hot kiln, right??

Are you cooling the marble too much before putting it away?

Are you using cold tools to put the marble away?

Do you have something on the floor f your kiln like a fiber blanket or container of salt? I have mine carpeted with a fiber blanket. Itkeep the marbles from initial directheat contact and als keeps them from rolling arround.
